A persistent, icy drizzle stinging your face as you ride is like water torture after awhile. Wintry cross-winds can parch your skin and make you wish you’d stayed home. You can wrap a furry scarf around your head to block the cold, but that’ll only fog your glasses and make it hard to breathe.

If only somebody would make a warm clava with a separate mask to cover your lower face –- so it’s easy to breathe, even when you’re guzzling oxygen at 85% HR.

Somebody has.

Seirus Innovation, a little company out of Poway, CA, has warm, Performance Fleece™ clavas with drawstring hoods and long neck-gauntlets. Interior masks are inset, with their own drawstrings, so you can adjust the masks separately. They call them Seirus Hoodz.

If you don’t mind giving off a little Darth Vader vibe, the Seirus Combo Clava offers even more protection with a molded mask and air holes. (Vader voice not included.)
