Installation
The installation was mostly straight forward but requires a little mechanical background. We first decided to install the front and rear shifters on the handlebar. I removed my old ones very quickly and began installing the X.9 shifters. It was very easy and the instruction that comes with the shifters were written very well.
Next, I decided to remove the old derailleur from the bike and install the X.9 and this happened with no problems. The cassette and chain was next on my list and my first difficulty came while trying to remove the old cassette, no fault of the SRAM group, just needed to purchase a new cassette removal tool or sprocket removal tool as some call them. After I made it back from the local bike shop, I easily removed the old cassette and measured and attached the new SRAM chain.
After the X.9 was completely installed and lubricated it was time to make the necessary adjustments. The adjustments were fairly straight forward. I had to play around with the cable adjustment and the limit screw adjustment for a few minutes and everything was fine shifting through 27 speeds very smoothly.
