Detailed Look
Front & Rear Trigger Shifter
The front and rear trigger shifter appears to be just an everyday shifter but upon careful inspection it is indeed much more. The shifter has a patented 1:1 Actuation ratio that SRAM calls ESP. This means that every unit of cable that is pulled the derailleur moves an equal amount with most other manufacturer’s shifters being a 1:2 ration. The shifter is made of aluminum and high intensity plastic and will withstand a lot of trail abuse.
Rear Derailleur
The rear derailleur is made of the same high quality aluminum with some plastic and nylon.
The rear derailleur uses the same ESP technology with the 1:1 ration which makes for very fast shifts.
Cassette and Chain
The SRAM cassettes are an extremely important component in the X.9 group and other groups as well. The SRAM PowerGlide cassettes are compatible with Shimano, Campagnolo, KMC, and of course SRAM chains. The PowerGlide is race inspired technology that was developed by SRAM.
