In Depth Look Installing the SpeedZone Pro Cyclocomputer
First, the wireless transmitter must be mounted on the fork blade. I mounted the wireless transmitter sensor on the right side of my wheel per instructions for bikes with front suspension forks. It had to be mounted within 24 inches (610mm) of the computer. It should be mounted as close as possible since colder temperatures may cause a loss of signal. The absolute maximum mounting distance is 28 inches. You will use the provided tie-wraps to secure the sensor. Simple enough. Next I attached the magnet to a spoke across from the transmitter with the magnet screw. You must have the clearance correct and it should be 1/32 – 1/16 (1-2mm). Special care must be made to not over tighten the magnet screw. Next I attached the mount to the handlebar making sure it was tight enough so that it would not move. There are several sizing straps included to fit different size bars. You may now slide the bike computer forward onto the mount until it snaps in place. To remove, push it backwards and it will release. A quick test will let you see if everything is working properly. Turn the bike computer on by pushing the Mode button. Pick up the front wheel and spin the wheel. The “wheel option” indicator will flash. If it does not flash, check the sensor and magnet alignment. Realign if necessary until the “wheel option” flashes when spinning the wheel.
Cadence Detail –
For the cadence option to work you must install the sensor provided. Run the sensor wire along the frame down tube and chain stay and secure in place using wire ties. You can now attach the cadence magnet to the inside of your crank arm directly across from sensor. The clearance should be 1/32 – 1/16 (1-2mm) between the two.
Programming –
You need to select between miles and kilometers by pushing the Mode button until ODO appears. Hold down the “Function” button (left side), and tap Mode button until you see Km,/h,m/h indicator. You can now choose between the two by pressing the Mode button. If it is set properly push the Mode button 5 times.
Set the wheel circumference by using the Easy Calibration Mode. Enter the ODO Mode and hold down the Function button for three seconds. The LCD display will show the current selected wheel size. To scroll thru the sizes tap both the Mode and Function buttons simultaneously. When you see your size wheels press the Function button once to select it. Tap Function button again to exit mode.
