Mounting
The Xalpin mini mountain bike pump was very easy to mount with the included rubber straps. Two straps are included to wrap around your bike post and then insert in the mounting bracket clips. Aonther rubber strap is included to cover the pump on the bracket to ensure it doesn't come out. Very easy.
Inflating
First I am going to try and inflate a schrader valve. I placed the pump on the valve and pump away. It was fairly easy to get to 80 psi. Next, I tried the mini pump on a presta valve. I first had to switch the pump to a presta valve setting and then it was very easy to pump to 100 psi.
Conclusion
The Xalpin aluminum mini pump by SKS Germany is a quality made product that should last many years with proper service. The only draw back I could find was the rubber strap that holds the pump on the mounting bracket. With time when the rubber starts to dry rot it may break while riding and you could not notice and loose your pump. This may not be a problem, but we will keep an eye on it and update this review if it is. The pump is really light in weight and does a great job pumping air into a schrader valve or presta valve. The instructions could be made more clearer for people who like to go strickly by the instructions. Overall, this is a great mountain bike pump. I was introduced to the staff of SKS Germany at the 2004 Interbike Show and I would like to thank SKS Germany for help making this review possible.
