Introduction
Today we are going to review a Suspension Pump, the NR-SHPMP, by Nashbar. Hashbar is a retailer of biking products and accessories and are based in Canfield, Ohio. The pump is constructed of aluminum and has a 300 psi pressure gauge. It has a built-in no pressure loss head that will reach the pressures of suspension forks and rear shocks without to much work.
First, we take a look at size and performance. The unit is overall 13.5 inches long and 19.25 inches long when fully extended. The unit is made of aluminum, rubber, and plastic. Its overall weight is 6.6 ounces.

Testing
First, I tried the pump on a rear Fox Shock. I easily managed to screw the hose end onto the Schrader valve. It showed an instant reading of my shock pressure which was 125 psi. I decided to pump it to 175 psi. It came up to 175 psi relatively easy. I tried the micro adjustment button to increase it to about 179 psi which worked well also. I then decided to try and max-out the shock psi which is rated at 300 psi and the pump is also rated at 300 psi. I had little difficulty obtaining 250 psi but never was able to get the shock completely up to 300 psi.I had a very sore hand and a blister after trying this. I had someone else try with no luck either. When unscrewing the pump hose from the shock I heard air leaking. The instructions said this was normal and this was not air from the shock leaking but air from the hose.
If you are looking to purchase a small but reliable suspension pump at a very good cost of around $29.95 retail then I highly recommend the Nashbar Suspension Pump.
