Quasar Cycling Heart Rate Monitor Watch Review

Testing

First, I made sure it was transmitting properly and then I set our for a hard ride. I am riding 16 miles today on a local mountain bike trail to see how it will perform. I first noticed the display was a little hard to see in the shade of trees while riding but I did seem to get the hang of it pretty quickly. Of course, it was no problem with the back light on. The heart rate monitor seemed accurate as compared to others that I am now using. The calorie burn indicator was very interesting and was right on target comparing it to a computer program that I use.

Conclusion

The Quasar perfomed just great! The bike mount is made of durable rubber material and the chest strap is made just like most chest straps you find today. I like the backlite display which is great for night time. Overall, I rate the Sette Quasar watch a very good deal for the money. With the price of $45 at PricePoint, you can't go wrong in buying it. It seems very durable, shock proof, and water proof and should last many years.

Pros
  • Great heart rate monitor
  • Back light
  • Operated perfectly
  • Easy Set-up

    Cons
  • Wish it were a gps
