In depth Look:
Light
The light head piece is made from a strong shatter resistant plastic. The bulb is a 10 watt halogen running on 6 volts dc. It produced enough light even on the darkest nights with no moon. I used it on my handle bars on an easy trail with little obstacles or hair pin turns. I recommend using the helmet mount in more difficult trails. It produced enough light and was easily snapped into the handle bar mount. It would be nice if the light had an adjustable beam. The head piece is connected to the battery through a wiring harness that plugs directly into the bottom of the light. I did experience problems with this. (More on this later).,
Switch
The switch is a push button type that is part of the wiring harness that can be mounted on your handle bar by your shifter or other easy to reach place. The wire is sufficient in length for this mounting. One end of the wiring harness connects to the light and the other end connects to the battery. To turn the light on you just simply push the button, when turning off you must hold the button down for approximately 1.5 seconds. This is to prevent inadvertly turning the unit off while riding. The switch is sealed very well to prevent water from entering the switch if it is raining.
Battery
The battery is a 6 volt 3,700 mA NI-MH. It is rated to last approximately 2 hours but I found that it lasted 130 minutes. The battery weights 11.5 oz. It has a quick disconnect plug for quick and easy connecting. It came complete with a battery bag that hangs from you’re (A Frame) bike. My bike is not an A frame so I had to place the battery in my saddle bag.
Charger
The charger is a trickle type charger that is easily connected to the battery with the quick disconnect plug. I found that the battery needed a deep charge out-of-the-box. It has a red light that is on while charging and a green light that comes on when the charge is complete. A full charge took about 11 hours. The battery gets very warm during the charging process so don’t get alarmed when you touch it. Do not charge battery in battery holder, it gets to warm.
Mounts
The package comes with both a helmet and handle bar mounts. Each are made of high strength plastic which is both water proof and light weight.
