Introduction
Lizard Skins has been making bike handle bar grips for many years and we are taking a look at the LOGO Single Compound Grips today. Lizard Skins has been in business over ten years and makes some of the best biking products today. They have distributors in over 60 countries. Lizard Skins manufacture grips, carbon fiber chainstays, water tube insulators and much more. They also have some great biking gloves and clothes. The single compound grips, model SCLDS100, are great grips for beginners or seasoned bikers. These grips have been around a long time and continue to be a good seller at bike shops all over. All Lizard Skins bike grips come with end plugs.
Installation
The installation is quite simple after you get your old grips off your bars. You should clean your handlebar thoroughly after removing the old grips. Spray a little hairspray or grip adhesive to the bar end and slide the grips onto the bar. It is necessary to wait 24 hours for the adhesive to dry before riding your bike. Simple enough, although it sometimes takes a little bit of man power to accomplish.
Time to ride
I left my standard equipment Specialized grip on the right side of the bar to compare the two grips. I decided it was time for some downhill. I rode my mountain bike on my local trail which has a good 3.5 downhill with plenty of rocks and rough areas. When I first began riding I noticed the Lizard Skins grip were a little more comfortable because they have a larger diameter than the Specialized side. It just fit my large hands better. I did a lot of flats and up hills before attempting the long downhill. The grips seemed ok to this point. I completed the downhill with a good feeling for the left Lizard Skins grip. It was a little awkward riding with two different grips so I decided to install the other one. The ride was much more comfortable with the same grip on both sides.
Conclusion
I really like the Lizard Skins LOGO Single Compound grips, maybe not the most comfortable grips I have ever used but they will simply get the job. If its time for you to replace your grips you should consider these. I think they will make you very happy. I look forward to reviewing the other great line of Lizard Skins grips soon. Cycling Reviews would like to thank Lizard Skins for making this review possible. More to come.........
