Knock Scoper Seatpost Review Reviewed By:Tim Cameron Reviewed On: March 29, 2004 Product Page:Titec Price: $55.00
Detailed Look
I removed the Knock Scoper from the box and immediately wanted to try it out. I installed my Selle Italia GelFlo Saddle on the seatpost and loaded up the bike for some riding. It was necessary to use a seatpost shim for the seatpost to fit my tube, no problem. The seatpost comes in an array of sizes for all different applications. If you were to order the wrong size or the size is not made for your bike, you may need to order a shim from someone like Nashbar, Pricepoint, or Performance Bike. I wanted to do some up and downhills to really get a feel of the seatpost so I proceeded to Oak Mountain State Park to ride the Red Trail today. It is a non-forgiving fast single track where “Bump-n-Grind” mountain bike race is held each year. I started at the North trailhead which is about 3 miles all uphill with a very steep grade. I placed the Knock Scoper seatpost in a very high position to see what I could do going up hill. It was good but when I made it to the crest of the hill I immediately lowered the seatpost
on-the-fly which was very easy. Quickly, it adjusted from fully extended to a very low position. I used the adjustment many times along the up and down trail and have to admit it takes some getting use to however it really makes a big difference in your riding success.
Conclusion
Overall, it does just what it is suppose too. I believe it will make someone looking for more speed and quick adjustments of their seatpost on-the-fly, very happy. It is probably not for the once-in-a-while biker but for someone who does a lot of mountain biking or bmx’ing. It would be interesting to see how much lighter the seatpost would be if it were made of titanium. A very good job indeed Titec!
