Detailed Look
The first appearance is really good but it seems a little bulky and I don’t know about the weight and comfort just yet, but we shall see. I really like the rain flap that is tucked inside its own zippered flap which will really come in handy if caught in the rain. The bag has a superstrong bag system and a crush and leak-proof flexible water container. The filler cap is very wide and accepts ice cubes easily. It has a cover that fits over the mouth piece opening which is really great and valve on the mouth piece that has a integral spring mechanism that seals tightly and won’t leak or drip under pressure. The reservoir bag has a special integrated anti-microbial compound to reduce cleaning and maintenance. It is suppose to be a taste free reservoir system. The bag is actually made by Source Vagabond Systems which makes reservoirs for other companies as well.
The SupeBike L Hydration Pack has the famous “Airstripes”. This air circulation system was developed especially for mountain bikers. It is made of two foam stripes and covered in mesh, which is highly breathable. This system allows for almost 80% of free air circulation across the bikers back. I will find out just how this works when I set out for a ride on a hot summer day. This system is suppose to create a chimney effect that promotes additional air movement. The back part of the bag has an anatomic design of the two “airstrips” that provides both comfort and stability. There are flexible aluminum stays in the “airstrips” that allow for curvature adjustment of the pack and allows for increased support. The hip belt is also the mesh material and will provide comfort on hot days and also give you the support that you made need.
