Just the Right Brush

February 8th, 2006

Bikes always seem to have more nooks and crannies than most brush-makers had in mind. If you’re the kind of cyclist who likes to keep your bike super clean, you’re also the kind of cyclist who can never find the right brush for certain jobs.

The 2006 Park BCB-4 Bike Cleaning Brush set introduced 4 unique brushes, each designed for a specific part of your bike that ordinary brushes won’t reach. Why settle for any ole brush when you can have just the right thing?

Own a Droid

February 8th, 2006

This adorable little gadget stole the show in 2005 as the Winner of the prestigious Red Dot Design Award. The ChainBOT is widely considered to be the coolest precision chain tool ever made.

But ChainBot has got more than cute going on. Cycling Plus called it their “chain tool of choice.” Far more tactile than other chain tools, its got high functionality, yet its small enough to fit comfortably in your palm.

2006 Sci-Con Aero Tech Travel Case

February 7th, 2006

Competitive Cyclist says the Sci-Con Aero Tech Travel Case is the finest hard case money can buy. At ₤430, that’s good to know.

This 5 mm thick, dent-proof case makes packing up your bike so easy, it’s almost like having a valet. All you do is take off your wheels, Velcro them into place and you’re done. Normal cases require a lot more disassembly and they don’t come with 5 killer locks. This is why you’re paying the extra bucks.

Weightless Giordana Long Sleeve

February 7th, 2006

Designed as a breakaway from Assos and Castelli, the high-end clothing makers in cycling, the BodyClone line is Giordana riding like a bat out of hell.

Notice especially the BodyClone Forma Long Sleeve, using Moovix HD, a hollow microfiber with a willingness to conform to your body like no other jersey. Its grid weave allows the fabric to move on vertical and horizontal axes, so you barely notice it’s there.

The wrist and waist grippers are made at such a super-low profile, that they seem thin like they’ll peel off. But the result of this exceeding lightweightness is a no-nonsense, grip you can hardly feel.

Giordana meant for the BodyClone line to stand out from the competition and it does. Not with slash and flash, but in an absolutely riveting hush.

BodyClone Forma

February 7th, 2006

The extremely fine silky feeling Giordana generates with their BodyClone line is not like anything else. It makes your everyday kit luxurious.

Till now, the highest thread count for nylon lycra was 36 TPC. BodyClone uses HC44 with a higher compression rate. It makes the fabric lighter, softer and more supple. Faster, more efficient wicking lets you ride drier too.

The BodyClone Forma Bib is built on a curve that conforms to the natural curves of your body as you move. Add that super lightweight, silky feeling and, pezcycling says, it’s just like riding naked.

Assos Kit Cleanser

February 6th, 2006

Assos makes some of the most technically advanced cycling clothing on the planet. When they’re gone to so much trouble, it makes sense that they’d take the time to make a cleanser specifically designed for your high-tech kit.

The Assos ActiveWear Cleanser is not only antibacterial, it has extra ingredients that keep your colors of your fabrics vibrant, soft and pliable. And the formula is oh so PH-neutral to go easier on your skin. For all that, it’s worth a little more.

Elite Ozone Depil Mousse

February 6th, 2006

If you don’t want to submit to the sadistic torture of a wax or the nicks and cuts of shaving your legs, Elite Ozone Depil Mousse is your answer. Ply on a little cream, wipe off a lot of hair.

If you recognize the name, Elite Ozone, that’s because it sponsors Gerolsteiner, Saeco, Acqua & Sapone, Alessio-Bianchi, Saunier Duval, and T-Mobile – hairless riders to a man. Now, it’s your turn.

2006 Campagnolo Corkscrew

February 6th, 2006

Haven’t you always wished you had an antique bronze, Campagnolo corkscrew for the random bottles of wine you might share with your club after a long days’ ride? No? Well, Campagnolo made one anyway. And, you have to admit, it’s lovely.

Maybe the designers at Campagnolo were thinking we’d be thinking it would make a nice gift. For ₤119? Maybe not.

X-15 Bottle Cage Adapter

February 2nd, 2006

Strange as it seems, not every bike has a convenient location for a bottle cage. Even bikes that do, don’t always have a great spot for a second bottle cage, if you’re going on a longer – but not hydration-pack worthy – ride.

The X-15 Adapter solves this problem. It creates a swivel. So your cage can twist when you pull the water bottle out. Nice, eh?

It holds your cage securely, but gives it more mobility. A steel spring keeps the bottle in place, while the swivel makes it easier to pull out, whenever you’re ready.

Topeak Adjustable Bottle Modula

February 2nd, 2006

One very simple fact seems to have completely eluded most makers of bottle cages: Not all bottles are the same size!

Sure, most bottles you buy from a cycling site are relatively close to the same size. But what if you’re out on the road and you decide to grab a bottled water or a cola?

You’re SOL. You’ve got not choice but to drink it on the spot or pour it into your existing bottles because there’s no way a regular bottle cage is going to hold anything but the standard bottle-sized-bottle in place.

Topeak gets it. That’s why they went back to the drawing board and quietly put together an excellent series of top-of-the-line, adjustable bottle cages. Hello! There’s nothing else to say, but THANK YOU!
